Version of IDEDOS 0.90: 2015-10-12 00.23.18

This page was created to allow customization of IDEDOS compile time options, without having to compile it locally. If a combinations does not compile, then it needs manual modification of code. As IDEDOS can be compiled on a wide variety of systems including Linux, win32, SunONE, OSX, *BSD, etc. so you can also try to compile it yourself.

Target system
Stock C64 or C128. It's using illegal opcodes, and the monitor will decode them too.
SuperCPU version. Using emulation mode 65816 opcodes and memory access. The monitor can decode all emulation mode opcodes.
Support both C64/C128 and SuperCPU64/SuperCPU128. Automatic system selection is only possible with V4.1 or V4.2. For programming 128 KiB images at least v1.6 version of the perom programmer is needed (included in the archive).
Cartridge version
Some very old V2.1 cartridges do not have a required register. Choose this only if IDEDOS refuses to start on your card. (DE32 error on boot) This will also disable support for the C128 keyboard. Most likely required for cards made before 2000.
V2.1 cartridges came with a different battery charger resistor.
Choose this if you have V3.1, V3.2, V3.4 and V3.4+.
Choose this if you have V4.1 or V4.2.
Disk drive speeder system
No special loader system support. Will work with VICE filesystem access mode. Mostly untested, if this does not compile, it's safe to choose JiffyDOS instead.
If you have JiffyDOS installed in one of your drives, you should choose this. It will speed up file copying in manager, for CMD HD and CMD FD too.
If you have DolphinDOS installed in one of your drives, and having a parallel cable, then you should choose this one. It will speed up file copying in manager to native DolphinDOS speeds. Of course you'll won't be able to use the PC64 cable for file transfers.
PCLink
This option selects the regular Star Commander cables for file transfers. You'll have to remove serial drives from bus during transfers.
This option selects the PC64 parallel cable for file transfers. This is the same as the old parallel PCLink cable.
This option selects the PC64 parallel cable for file transfers. This is the same as the old parallel PCLink cable, but it does not use the optional FLAG line. (it's a bit slower this way, and needs different ideserv)
This option selects the RS232 nullmodem cable for file transfer using the DUART card. This is the same as the old serial PCLink cable, you have to own a Duart serial card to use this.

This option selects the RS232 nullmodem cable for file transfer using the SwiftLink card. You have to own a SwiftLink serial card to use this, it will be configured to 38.4 Kbit/s. Untested, do not forget to lower the speed of ideserv.

This option selects the RS232 nullmodem cable for file transfer using the Turbo232 card. You have to own a Turbo232 serial card to use this. Untested.

This option selects the Ethernet crosslink cable for file transfer using the (E)TFE card. You have to own a ETFE or TFE network card to use this.

(E)TFE Ethernet card base address for Ethernet PCLink.
This option selects the Ethernet crosslink cable for file transfer using the RR-Net card. You have to own a RR-Net network card to use this.

RR-Net Ethernet card base address for Ethernet PCLink.
This option selects the Ethernet crosslink cable for file transfer using the ETH64 card. You have to own a ETH64 network card to use this.

ETH64 Ethernet card base address for Ethernet PCLink.
This option selects USB file transfer using the FT245 USB FIFO chip. You have to own a V4.1 or V4.2 cartridge or a ShortBus USB card to use this.

FT245 base address for USB PCLink. $DE5D is the base address of the integrated FT245 on the V4.1 or V4.2 cartridge.
Misc options
It's used for muting when Run/Stop+Restore is pressed, monitor is used and for manager sounds.
If checked CRC8 will be calculated on all transfers, which is good for data integrity, especially on long cables. However if you better like speed, then you can disable this. It has no effect on the speed of null modem connection because of pipelining. Hardware checksumming is used on Ethernet and USB instead.
By default the extensions of files on CDs are converted into filetypes, so a.d64 becomes a with filetype d64. If you better like to leave it as a.d64 with filetype prg then select this option.
If checked the USB transfer will be faster, but this requires the use of USB ideserv. If you use serial ideserv with serial emulation for USB PCLink, do not use this, it will break transfers!
If this option is checked the file format will be .crt instead of a raw .rom image. This is convenient when used with the VICE emulator, however this format cannot be used for updating a real cartridge. Please note that old versions of VICE don't support this cartridge type, and the V4 cartridge must be manually selected as required for VICE 2.3. (will be automatic in later versions)
